N/A Guam is an unorganized incorporated Territory of the United States located between the Hawaiian Islands and the Philippines. It was acquired from Spain by Treaty in 1898. Guam was captured by the Japanese in 1941, and retaken by the US three years later. The military installation on the island is one of the most strategically important US bases in the Pacific. The Territory is under the administrative jurisdiction of the Department of the Interior.(ref: CIA World Factbook).
