Episcopal flag colors and design: red and white St George Cross of England flag, cross of the Church of England, carrying a light blue canton on the upper hoist. The blue canton is comprised of nine Jerusalem crosses positioned in a St Andrew's Cross pattern. The nine crosses represent the original nine dioceses founded in America in 1789. Known as the Protestant Episcopal Church in America, it is part of the Anglican Communion. Year Adopted: 1940, first created in 1923, commissioned by the Diocese of Long Island, New York.
