Extreme wear outdoor Maine flags are produced using open weave 2-ply woven polyester, the longest wearing flag material available for daily, long-term display. This open weave material reduces fabric stress and outside fly-end shredding in high wind applications, increasing flag life over traditional nylon flags. Sizes offered are 3x5 ft., 4x6 ft. and 5x8 ft. Textile trade names are Annin Tough-tex, Eder Flag Poly-Max and Valley Forge Flag Spectrapro.

 N/A State Ensign: A revised pine tree style flag exists currently as the official state ensign or marine flag, being the only state other than Massachusetts that has one. It is a white flag adopted in 1939, consisting of the earlier pine tree /north star design, though entwined with a blue anchor across the trunk of the tree. Spelled above is the state motto "Dirigo", and underneath "Maine". This flag is available made to order only.
